Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cultivating various types of crops, from planting and fertilizing to harvesting.
- Ensuring that crops grow in optimal conditions and that agricultural productivity is maximized.
- Developing more effective planting, cultivation, and harvesting methods to increase production.
- Analyzing soil, water, and other environmental factors that affect crop growth.
- Performing quality control on seed and soil standards
- Conducting field visits to collect seed, plant, and soil samples
- Developing nutrition plans and fertilization schedules based on soil test results
- Testing samples to detect nutrient deficiencies, diseases, or changes in plant conditions
- Develop pest and weed management plans using chemical, biological, or technological methods (e.g., precision weeding)
- Evaluate and improve seed quality
- Develop planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and agricultural activity timelines
- Record and document plant growth and environmental conditions
Qualifications:
- Willing to be placed in North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, and travel outside the city when necessary.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant science, soil and water management, biotechnology, or related fields.
- 3–4 years of experience in coffee cultivation, with a focus on plant protection methodologies.
- Able to operate and manage various irrigation systems.
- Proficient in agronomy, including fertilization and pest control
- Highly detail-oriented and meticulous
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience as an agronomist
- In-depth understanding of soil and plant principles
- Able to operate computers, especially Microsoft Office
